Now Serving All areas of Long Island!
We certainly can teach an old dog new tricks! Basic Obedience usually includes: name recognition, sit, down, stay, come, leave it, hand targeting and heel. These are basic skill that help you to communicate with your dog. We can work on these skills in your home, and out on the town, adding distractions, duration and distance to strengthen these commands. Whether you want to teach your dog these skills from scratch, or sharpen and proof his training, we can help!
At-Home Sessions
These sessions are one hour, and we can work with all members of the family that are involved in your dog’s life. If you have multiple dogs we can work with all of the dogs in one session, but it’s best to start with one on one, to give each dog their own time. In at-home lessons we can also go out for a walk to practice leash skills or work outdoors in your neighborhood. All lessons will include an e-mail recap as well as unlimited phone and e-mail access for further questions.
Day Training
Day Training is a great option in conjunction with at-home sessions. Day Training is done during the middle of the day on weekdays, and does not include the owner. We will always do our best to send video clips, and e-mail follow ups regarding the training we cover. In order to get the most out of day training, it is necessary to have at least one lesson a month with the owners involved, to go over all we have worked on. Day training is great for young dogs, and basic commands; it is a great way to exercise your dog’s brain while you are at work or away.
Basic Commands
Name recognition, sit, down, stay, come, leave it, & touch (hand targeting), or advance your dog’s skills by adding distance, distractions and duration.
Tricks & Fun
It is important to have some light hearted commands like “high five,” but it can also be fun to teach an advanced trick, such as turning on and off a light switch!
